What Will Thompson Carr Auctions Do Next?

That is what the auction world is asking. Thompson Carr Auctions has once again taken another step forward into the technology world. With the announcement of their "Live - Chat" option added to their website; giving seller and bidder alike the option to talk to an Auctioneer live over the web! Thompson Carr Auctions is leading the way to "Auctions of the 21st Century". The system is still in it's early stages and Thompson Carr Auctions are inviting anyone to try it on for size. If you have a question; just go to their website and click on "Chat Live Button" from the home page - an Auctioneer will be with you shortly! When Todd Thompson, State Champion Auctioneer and co owner of Thompson Carr Auctions was asked why chat? He stated with confidence "The future for Auctions lies firmly in the latest technology, I fully expect traditional Bid Calling to be a thing of the past in the future. This is just our way of trying to stay ahead of the game. My partner, Dale Carr and I are committed to forging forward with technology and I think the public can see that with the introduction of Online Bidding and now the Live Chat feature on our website." Everyone at Thompson Carr Auctions is excited about the new additions and is sure the public will utilize the features. So the question remains, What will Thompson Carr Auctions Do Next? I guess we will just have to watch and see.

Thompson Carr meets needs of clients with Online Bidding

Thursday July 3rd, 2008 Thompson Carr Auctions goes live with the Online Bidding module of their website. "Thompson Carr Auctions are excited to announce the addition of Online Bidding to their website. In an alliance with Next Lot and SD Professionals Online Bidding is now a realty for Thompson Carr Auctions" Melanie Sims, Business Manager at Thompson Auctions announced at press conference earlier today. Sims said" I am very pleased with this new option for buyer's. In recent months our buying clientele have been coming from much further afield. This gives them choices and I believe that is a good thing. Now they do not have the added expense of flying or driving to the Auction if they do not want to. They can bid online right from our website on the comfort of their own computer. Clients do not have to give up their valuable time, which in some case can be many days travel to bid on a property they may or may not win. Now all they need to do is register online and stay online during the auction until they have reached their highest bid. They can even place pre-bids prior to the auction if they are going to be away from their computer while the auction is in process". Online bidding has been around for a while but with the increase in awareness, mostly helped by EBay, a large number of Auction Houses are making this option available to their buyers.

Thompson Carr Auctions the Unstoppable Train?

Saturday June 28th, 2008 saw Thompson Carr Auctions in Newport, TN and Douglas Lake, TN with two major Auctions. First thing Saturday the Auction Team sped their way to Newport, TN to Auction the Walter Thomas Estate Sub-Division. 10 tracts of land at Auction prices. The weather, which again co-operated and was cooler and breezier than usual for this time of year, drew bidders from all over Tennessee to buy tracts in this new development in Newport. Bidding was hot and heavy and prices were realized beyond any one's expectations. Soon after bidding was over the Thompson Carr Auction team hi-tailed it to Douglas Lake to sell two tracts of land with Lake access. Again the weather co-operated with the Team and a huge crowd greeted them when they arrived at the Auction location. Property Auctions are obviously fast becoming the way to sell your property and bidders and sellers alike were in a frenzy. After a couple of stalls in bidding the end result for bidding on the two tracts of land was amazing. Dale Carr of Thompson Carr Auctions said of the prices achieved on both Auctions "proves there are still buyer's out there willing to get what they want regardless of price. This was a very successful day for all involved and shows us that regardless of what the regular Real Estate market is doing, Auctions are not suffering". When asked why clients take their properties to Auction? Dale replied simply "Auctions put the seller in charge, with the regular Real Estate method of selling the Buyer is in charge. The Auction method is on a timeline and the seller knows when he or she will get their cash". "Now with the introduction of ONLINE BIDDING direct on our website we expect to see a huge increase of buyers"! Dale stated.

Landslide Victory for Thompson Carr at Le Conte Landing Auction

Saturday June 21st, 2008 sees yet another Thompson Carr Auctions victory in a Real Estate market that is having more downs than ups. Thompson Carr's auction of 40 lots in the prestigious Le Conte Landing Subdivision in Sevierville, Tennessee, USA was a huge success bringing ~$1,625,000. The whole community turned out to see how many lots would sell and at what price point. Once again Thompson Carr Auctions proved they are tops when it comes to putting buyers and sellers together. Bidders from all over the South East turned out to buy at auction prices. From as far away as Florida and Kentucky bidders flocked to buy lots with views of Mount Le Conte and the Great Smoky Mountains. Todd Thompson and Dale Carr, owners of Thompson Carr Auctions were cautiously optimistic prior to auction start time of 10:30am and after, they were beaming with success. "We have started to change our marketing strategy" Carr said after the auction "we are now backing away from local advertising and are more focused on bringing buyer's from further a field. Seeing buyer's here from all over the South East proves in part that it is starting to work". Much of the praise Carr had went to a local company they have known for a relatively short time, SD Professionals produces this auction companies brochures, website and now SEO marketing strategies. Melanie Sims, Operations Manager for Thompson Carr Auctions stated Saturday " Each auction is different but usually we have tight budgets to work with. Jacob Timmons, of SD Professionals always works with those budgets and brings us a marketing product that reaches far beyond our expectations. We are very pleased with the turnout he has produced for this auction". Thompson Carr are seeming to go from strength to strength they are now booking auction for August and September and even have auctions booked for November of 2008. "It usually takes about 6 - 8 weeks to prepare for an auction if the property doesn't need major planning approval" Sims commented. With the building of the new hospital the investors that purchased lots on Saturday are sure to see a good return on their investment when the Hospital opens in the Fall of 2009.

Lake Front Community attracts overseas bidders

Saturday May 24th saw Thompson Carr Auctions at a lakeside venue selling lake front lots to the highest bidder. Thompson Carr Auctions, who were announced as the largest Auction Company in East Tennessee a few weeks ago seem to have captured the market for auctions channeled towards international buyers. In the current Real Estate climate finding bidders from overseas is important for the sellers of Real Estate. Dale Carr one half of the Thompson Carr team stated after the auction on Saturday, "In the current market we have to expland our ideas and sphere of influence to include new ideas for getting the word out about our auctions. Overseas buyers are a particularly untapped market and Europeans, especially with the exchange rate, are excited about buying property for vacations, second homes, investment or retirement spots." Thompson Carr are moving away from traditional advertising for auctions and moving towards holding auctions online and marketing to a broader spectrum of the public through internet advertsing.
Saturday's auction saw bidders from as far away as Florida and Arizona and Great Britain and Spain. An auction needs to satisfy both buyers and sellers, Thompson Carr Auctions appears to have found that happy balance. Location is everything in Real Estate and Thompson Carr certainly have the perfect location being minutes, literally, from the second most visited National Park in The States makes Sevier County and The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and investors dream.
